Located on 5 acres in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Qualteri Collies has been showing and breeding rough and smooth collies for 30 years. Located an hour and a half from Denver International Airport and 45 minutes from one of the premier reproductive vets in Colorado, we are easily accessible to anyone interested in our dogs. As an AKC Breeder of Merit Silver level, we focus on health, type, and temperament.

For over 30 years we have dedicated ourselves to producing happy, healthy Collies. As active members of the Collie Club of America, the Collie Health Foundation, the Collie Juniors Foundation, and the Cheyenne Kennel Club we are active in the purebred dog community on multiple levels. All of our dogs are health certified above and beyond what the Collie Club of America recommends for their members. We also try to title our dogs in both conformation and companion events. About us
The story of Qualteri Collies began in 1994, when we welcomed our first Rough Collie puppy. While she wasn’t considered “show quality,” she was an exceptional companion who went on to earn multiple titles in obedience and agility. More importantly, she sparked a lifelong passion for the Collie breed.
As we became involved with members of the Collie Club of Colorado and immersed ourselves in the Collie standard, we dedicated years to learning about the breed and studying bloodlines that best represented the temperament, structure, and elegance we admired. That journey led us to purchase our first show puppy in 1997 and begin learning the art of showing in the AKC.
Our first champion, Trento, was finished from the Open Sable class and was 100% owner-handled—an unforgettable experience and a proud milestone. In 2003, we welcomed our first litter, marking the beginning of our breeding program.
Since then, Qualteri Collies has been committed to preserving and improving the Collie through thoughtful breeding, education, and hands-on involvement. As the first recorded AKC Collie Breeder of Merit Silver level, our dogs are bred with an emphasis on genetic health, sound temperament, correct structure, and versatility—whether in the show ring, performance events, or as devoted family companions.
At Qualteri Collies, our dogs are not just part of our program—they are part of our family. We take pride in producing Collies that exemplify the beauty, intelligence, and heart of this remarkable breed.

Qualteri Collies is a small, family-owned preservation kennel dedicated to the responsible breeding of Rough and Smooth Collies. Our mission is to protect and improve the breed by preserving its health, beauty, elegance, and unique character. As an AKC Breeder of Merit Silver level, we uphold the highest standards of integrity through comprehensive health testing, including OFA and CHIC certifications, and by strictly adhering to the Collie Club of America Code of Ethics.
